It is not only Comcast that tries to be everywhere. On Saturday, October 22, AT&T secured a deal to buy Time Warner for more than $80 billion. The deal expresses the desire of AT&T to get into the market of TV and film content for diversification purposes. Supposedly AT&T wants to access these markets in order to get online subscribers from Time Warner’s networks such as HBO, CNN, TNT and others. The company is believed to be working on its own on-demand streaming service similar to Netflix or Amazon Prime, and the access to Time Warner’s content is a fantastic possibility. One year ago AT&T has bought a satellite TV company DirectTV. These acquisitions are a good opportunity for AT&T to expand and enrich their main business units that focus on providing wireless services and Internet.
