Boston Rent Map
The two main factors people are looking at when searching for an apartment are usually price and an access to a public transportation system.
RentHop, a rental search engine, conducted a study where they gathered information about rental prices in relation to MBTA stops. They also created a map to provide a graphic example. The map represents a median rent for a one-bedroom apartment within a third of a mile of each T stop.
As you can see, the map demonstrates tremendous differences in prices, depending which way you go. For example, if you go one stop down from Tufts Medical to Back Bay, the median rent will be $150 lower. If you go one more stop to Mass Ave, the difference with Tufts Medical will be $250. Now, explore the map on your own and try to see how much you can save if you relocate just a little bit further.
